Hi Stacy!
I just wanted to congratulate you on all of your success. I have seen you on Oprah the other times as well as today and am so proud of you. Even though I have never had a weight problem, I want you to know that even skinny people have their issues and hardships - they're just not as visible. Please know that you have my support.
Hi Stacey,
Saw the Oprah show today and wanted to tell you how much everything you said resonated with me. I've been a yo-yo dieter for several years now, and it is so refreshing to hear someone say they never felt "normal". Even at my lowest weight I still thought there was something wrong with me, and I gained back the weight ferociously. I did have one of those moments like you, however, where I thought, 'I need to do something about this. It doesn't have to be the neverending cycle anymore.' Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you and congratulations on the weight loss (win!) and please continue to spread your positive attitude and articulate thoughts to women like us who need it. :-)
~Anne
PS. I will be buying your book, too.
Dear Stacey
I saw you on the Oprah show today and remember you from shows past.
I have been overweight my entire life and about 17 years ago I had a vertical banded gastroplasty done. It was a very drastic step but one I took because of future health concerns I was facing.
Today I am 30 pounds heavier but again working to take that off. Some of your comments today hit home. The surgery I had was the hardest thing I have ever done and keeping the weight off is even harder. My daughter (who is also overweight) and I have started to work on our battle together. Most people assume that after you have weight loss surgery life is normal. I will always be fat in my head and I will always fight with my weight. I feel as if I am a winner because I am healthy and your are correct about starting each day new. Its what I have been saying to my daughter her whole life. Good luck to you....I will try hard to find your book...but living in Canada we don't always get things that are available to you in the USA.
I dont usually take the time to email people , but you touched me and made me cry! your story is incredible and you are amazing!!! your an inspiration to all I wish you continued happiness!! Linda
Dear Stacey, I watched the original show and the latest repeat show. You are incredible and an inspiration to all of us. I am a big fan of yours. Amber in Boca
Hi Stacey. We just saw the Oprah episode here in New Zealand yesterday.. I did not know your story at all before then. I can relate very well, my heaviest being nearly 400lbs.. I am now 260. Have not got the guts to do surgery..yet! My first date was at 27 and I married the guy.. I am now in a much happier marriage with the second date lol..He took me on at 270lbs and has never said a cruel word in the 11 years we have been together..I we be following your blogs with interest.. Your fantastic personality was always in there, but I bet no one took the time to notice.. It's amazing how much respect and value you opinions get when you are smaller!
Dear Stacey,
I read the blogs while listening to "The Sound Music". I will get to your book soon.
I just fell through one of my dining room chairs and have bruises on my arm. All my natural body cushion kept me safe. I guess it's good for something.
Happy and Healthy New Year!
Love forever!
Adrienne
